Hello, baby. How is
life treating you?
Buzzing bee,
is life a kind of flu
since you flew
away from me?
Tell me true—
are you blue,
are you blue
like me?

This is such a feel good write for me–I love Salvia and it is blooming in profusion hereabouts–so you made me smile
Oh, good! It felt good when I wrote it, too. Salvia is a favorite of mine. Beautiful, long-blooming, and bees love it. And it loves bees. apparently. 🙂
Great.! I’d move the last line up to the bottom of the last stanza. It’s a great comeback.
Thanks, Walter. I thought about that, but I like it where it is, as sort of a lonely, wistful admission hanging out by itself. I appreciate the suggestion, though!
Lovely … and I can see that buzzing bee, and salvias what a wonderful imagery… (and I can definitely hear the bee) hope for great honey.
Thanks, Bjorn! I think this poem started from the sound of the words.
yes…….
Thanks!
playful…reminds me a bit of some of nikki giovannis stuff….
gotta watch those bees buzzing flow to flower though…smiles.
I know … bees are so promiscuous!
I sense an easy, expected parting with this piece…perhaps a logical separation
Yeah, maybe easy and expected with just a twinge of sadness.
Love its simplicity and rhetoric. Kind of saying “I secretly hope you’re as sad as me.”
Playful sound like a song. I like those. smiles.
Oops, very belated reply — thank you, Lila! Yes, I think that’s what the salvia is saying. The poem was kind of buzzing on my ear as I walked one morning. 🙂
..ah, i really really like this for its simplicity yet evoking such a deep sad undertone that cleverly camouflaged with the intentional rhyming scheeme… loved it… smiles…
Thanks, Kelvin! Yes, I think the salvia is more sad than it wants to admit, and there’s more rhyme than I usually have.
Simple and to the point, I like it!
Thanks, Ayala!
J’adore!!!
Merci beaucoup, Mohana!
