Geode
It breaks to reveal
a whole other world
peopled by ants,
anted by people.
There are waves
and thunder,
leaves and wind.
This is not
what you expected.
Pay for it;
take it home.
This belongs to you now.
Wish you could crawl inside.

its rather magical inside a geode…i might not mind a visit…then again you would be surprised what you might find when you look inside most any thing…smiles…
True! I wasn’t exactly sure what I was writing about when I started — only that “something” had opened to reveal something startling.
Delicious…not what I expected at all!
…anted by people…
and peculiarly funny too!
What a special little thing!
i ALWAYS wanted to climb inside a geode. haha. although this speaks to so much more than that…thanks for sharing ! 🙂
Yes, I can see wanting to curl up inside a geode world, although it might be a little rough. They are so beautiful, as is your poem.
I really enjoyed the innocent wonder in this, turning some great phrases as you express that wonder. Great image at the end, as it reflects what I myself feel in the presence of these objects.
