Surely there will be
a raccoon, or at least
a rabbit. A deer, I’d
have to fight for.

dusk
light rain
heavy traffic
hunger

I will wait. I will ready
my wings. I will feel
each feather

fill with hope.

i am pretty sure the birds can find food…somewhere…the thought of eating roadkill is a bit disturbing to the senses though…ha….the hope in the feathers is a cool closing…
